Grace House of Brunswick, Inc.
A $50,000 grant was awarded to Grace House of Brunswick, Inc. to fund the repair and leveling of the foundation of the home. Grace House is a women's sober living home in downtown Brunswick that offers a residential treatment program.

Social Opportunities & Active Recreation (SOAR)
A $5,000 grant was awarded to SOAR to fund their annual swim camp for children with disabilities.


 Habitat for Humanity of Glynn County 

A $5,000 grant was awarded to Habitat for Humanity to fund the purchase of new construction tools needed for their ongoing projects.


Faithful Love, Inc.

A $5,000 grant was awarded to Faithful Love, Inc. to fund housing expenses for survivors of local sex trafficking as they transition out of homelessness and into independent living.

Grant Guidelines

Who is eligible to apply?

  • Qualifying tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations are eligible to apply for grants consistent with Golden Isles ACT's funding priorities.
  • Applicants must have obtained a 501(c)(3) determination letter prior to making an application. 
  • If the applicant is not required to hold 501(c)(3) status, it must provide a copy of an IRS letter
    or a legal opinion certifying that the applicant is a public charity described in Section 509(a)(1), (2), or (3).
  • Applicants must provide service primarily in Glynn County, Georgia.

What does ACT fund?

Golden Isles ACT offers two annual grant opportunities. The Golden Isles ACT lead grant supports one project with  $50,000.   The Golden Isles ACT MicroGrant supports multiple projects and programs with a maximum grant of $5,000.


The organization will consider single-year grant applications that focus on education, health and safety, women's issues, community building, and at-risk families and children. Proposals should meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Address a critical need in our community,
  • Provide a creative solution(s) to time-worn problems, or
  • Represent strategic investments in capacity building for established nonprofits.

Funded projects must be completed within the funding year.

Apply for a Grant

Prior to applying for the Golden Isles ACT Grant or the Golden Isles ACT MicroGrant, nonprofits should review the Grant Guidelines, located in the "Downloads" section of this site.


Completed applications are due by 4:00 pm Eastern Time on January 22 of each year.  


Grant applications are only accepted between December 1 and January 22.  Application and required attachments should be submitted as a single PDF file to info@GoldenIslesACT.org. If submitting the Golden Isles ACT Grant, the subject line in your email should read "ACT GRANT- Your organization name." if submitting the Golden Isles ACT MicroGrant, the email subject line should read "MICROGRANT - your organization name."


Current recipients of the Golden Isles ACT Grant are eligible to apply for the microgrant annually, but must wait one year before reapplying for the larger grant. 

Grant Notification

Grant award letters (and declination letters) and grant agreements will be sent in mid-April, specifying the award, reporting requirements, and restrictions. The recipient of the Golden Isles ACT Grant  will be asked to make a brief presentation to the membership at the annual meeting in April. MicroGrant recipients may be asked to attend the annual meeting. Once the signed grant agreement is received from the grantee, the check will be awarded in the fiscal year based on your project start date. MicroGrant recipients are required to submit an Evaluation Report four (4) months after use of the funds.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How does my organization apply?

Grant applications are accepted once per year from December 1 through January 22. The application can be downloaded. The completed application, including all required supporting materials, should be submitted as one single PDF document. Refer to the Grant Guidelines section of our website for more information.  

When are your timelines for application and funding?

  • Complete grant applications must be submitted by January 22nd each year. 
  • Site visits are scheduled in February and March for Golden Isles ACT Grant proposals of interest.
  • Grant award (and declination) letters are sent in April.
  • Golden Isles ACT Grant recipients are asked to make a brief presentation at the Golden Isles ACT Annual Meeting in April.
  • Grants are funded based on project start dates during the fiscal year.
  • Golden Isles ACT MicroGrant recipients must submit an Evaluation Report four (4) months after the use of grant funds.

How does my organization know if it is eligible to apply?

Proposals for both grants will be considered only from 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations which primarily serve Glynn County residents and meet Golden Isles ACT giving objectives. Please review our funding priority areas to understand the types of projects we support. You can also find examples of past grantee projects on our website. 

 

Golden Isles ACT was founded with a desire to make an impact in our community, Glynn County. We understand that many organizations headquartered in Glynn County also provide services in the surrounding counties. We currently support organizations serving primarily Glynn County.     

We do not fund the following:

  • Organizations without a local Board of Directors

What is your grant review process?

Each year, ten members of Golden Isles ACT serve on the Grant Committee.  The committee reviews submitted proposals based on the organization's funding priorities and application criteria. Site visits are conducted for the Golden Isles ACT Grant prior to making a final decision.
